Kizomba is a sensual partner dance originally from Angola, a country in Africa. It is popular in other countries such as Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde, Portugal, Mozambique, Equatorial Guinea and Brazil with the style varying slightly in these places. Europe has seen tremendous growth in the last few years and with it the introduction of Kizomba to North America has arrived!
Spearheading this drive is Kizomba Canada, directed by professional dancer and choreographer Manuel Dos Santos. Based in Montreal, several socials are held each week boasting average attendances of 200 people. With this, regular performances at the top salsa congresses around the United States mean it is only a matter of time before Kizomba will be on your doorstep.
"Thanks!!! I love the class! it is so much fun! You, Tyler, and Sarah are such great teachers!!" - Amy Rumora, current kizomba student, Feb 2013
